Report on the Whitehaven trip.

The day started a bit damp but this soon blow over leaving blue skies. The sea showed a few white horses but no problem on the North Arm.

We started fishing into the open sea and immediately started catching some small fish (like every where else) but larger fish soon followed with some nice specimens. The tally of species started to grow to include gurnards and dog fish. Full list at the end. Some turned their backs to the sea and fished the outer     harbour this proved very productive as well, plenty of fish         around. A great day was had by all. (results to follow) list of     speciems caught

*Red Gurnards

* Poor Cod

 * Whiting

* Codling

                * Weaver  (malc says its the devil fish if you look it in the eyes you die)

* Dabs

* Eels

* 3 and 5 Beard Rockling

Malc said he caught a common skate but the drop net was not big enough

T Rimington had a small whiting on his rig for so long that by the time he reeled it in the crabs had eaten half of it     and put a note on his hook as none of us speaks crab we         interpreted it as
